I'm trying to send a PDF file, generated by pdflatex(1),
as an e-mail attachment, to some external sites which I
presume are running some flavour of Windoze.
all(?) the sites report back it cannot be read (and then
request an RTF/M$-Word format instead! ;-( ). needless
to say, I've no problem reading the PDF whether I sent it
to myself locally, or bounce it to myself via my ISP.
the details are vague. the best info I have is:
``When I try to open the PDF is says the file is damaged,
tries to repair it and then says "There was a problem
reading this document (14)"!''
that was sent with ``X-Mailer: Microsoft Internet E-mail/MAPI - 8.0.0.4211''
which I therefore assume is the MUA involved (at least at
that site).
any ideas??
( I'm trying to get a copy of the e-mail sent back to me
so I can see what was actually received, but .... )
alternatively, if someone out there has access to some
Windoze-ware, and is willing to give it a try, please
let me know and I'll send e-mail with the PDF. since
the PDF in question is my CV, there's nothing sensitive
here at all .... in fact, if you want to see a copy of
my CV anyways, please drop me a note. (I do not attach
it to this e-mail to keep things small/short/simple.)
cheers!
