[ILUG] Alcatel Speedtouch modem

Hey there,
I've been trying to get the alcatel speedtouch modem running under linux
but to no avail.
I've tried a few howTo's and none seem to work.
Im running debian woody and a 2.4.17 kernel.
I was reading the archives and saw references to it by other users.
Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction for getting this working?
