[ILUG] Why /usr/include/linux -> /usr/src/linux/inlucde is considered bad

[ILUG] Why /usr/include/linux -> /usr/src/linux/inlucde is considered bad

Stephen Shirley diamond at csn.ul.ie
Fri Jan 4 17:17:54 GMT 2002

Hey,
I know this has been discussed on this list a few times over the
past few years, but for those that missed it, were confused by it, or
have forgotten it, here's a mail from the man himself (i.e. linus,
obviously -) on the issue:
	http://www.uwsg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0007.3/0587.html

He also makes a point about not compiling a kernel in
/usr/src/linux, and that you should leave the original occupant of that
dir in place, although I'm not sure if that's due to distributions using
the nasty, naughty etc symlink.
