Maplins have a pretty poor selection of generic level PC components
at ridiculous prices. Despite that they're still one of the best places
in Dublin :)

They tend to have a better selection of stuff, ie stuff that you might
have heard of. They are expensive, but then nowhere in Dublin
is cheap.

Sony sell computers!
I have a very nice Sony monitor also, unfortunately
I've decided I don't like the mask wire which I can see quite easily so I
won't be buying another one. Look out for cheap 15" LCD screens,
although probably not in Ireland.

If your nervous about doing this, Paul, don't do it! Much safer to get a
shiny new box from Dell. You won't save yourself any money either. You may as
well buy stuff from somewhere like dabs where you'll get a decent product
selection and decent prices. You lose out on delivery and sterling -> euro
conversion, but then Irish suppliers seem to be adding those costs in anyway.
