I'm in Electronic hardware - and occasionally end up fixing pcs.
Forget Peats, Maplin, Compustore, etc. etc.
There's people in West Link Industrial Estate - Europoint(?) Euro something
anyhow, who are supposed to be good.
Jaguar Computers are in Behind the Tile Market where Ballymount Lane meets
the Naas Rd (Just at the M50 roundabout). They are helpful, do their own
prebuilt; But beware of what you buy. They stock Seagate disks, which are
lousy under linux. They also can have dodgy chipsets - check that out.
CPC are a catalogue supplier selling from England (Local address in Gofton
Court, Jamestown Rd, Finglas). They have a lot of yesterday's stuff, and many
gigabyte boards, but some OK stuff too. They'll send you a catalogue I'm
sure. I could even find a phone number if I have to. I got this "beautiful
bargain" m/b with sound & graphics (No shared memory onboard) Software
configurable, cheap enough. But it had the SiS 5513/5591 chipset and the SiS
6326 video chip - some of the worst crap ever sold. The later chipsets from
SiS (630, 730, 745 etc) are great; but they were junk.
