Is it specific to _you_, or to certain machines? If it's you,
try wearing an anti-static ankle strap. If it a certain
machine, it sounds like it's not earthed properly.
BTW, someone mentioned a bit further back that "you could
make your own anti-static wrist-strap - it's just a wire
to earth". DON'T! It's also got a 1 megaohm resistor
to reduce the risk or you killing yourself by connecting
it to a live point, or by touching some other part of your
body off a live point.
They're cheap. Get a proper one.
