I've done it a few times with no apparent harm to anything but never
deliberately. However, an old friend of mine who puts his hands on a lote
more PC hardware than I do regularly hot plugs PCI cards and says that he's
never had a problem. The boxes he's using are regular PCs mind - not fancy
dancy things with hot plug PCI.
