[ILUG] lesstif/openmotif and rpm's Question

[ILUG] lesstif/openmotif and rpm's Question

Howdy all,

I'm having a spot a bother with something that I hope someone
might be able to help me with.

I am trying to compile an Image Processing library, called Vista (version 2.1.5).
It requires some motif libraries to compile for some of the Xwindows elements,
and they say that one can use the Openmotif source and bits.

I download the required rpm's, and attempt to download them.
gnorpm tells me that there is a conflict with some of the lesstif
library files. I then searched for the lesstif rpm's, to no avail.

Eventually I do a search on 'package containing' one of the conflicting files.
When I try to:
- Query the package - a tiny window with no text or anything appears
- Verify the package - gnorpm crashes
- Uninstall the package - gnorpm crashes...

I tried rebuilding the rpm database, no luck.
I then download the lesstif rpms again, and freshen the install.
Then I search for them with a view to uninstalling everything, and
installing openmotif in its stead.

But I cant find the rpms I have just installed...
Any ideas as to how I can remedy this problem?

TIA,

Richard
