while you received numerous answers to this all of them were way off the
mark and missed the "without anon ftp" piece .. if you run wu-ftpd from
inetd ,it'll run as the user who is ftping .. how else can it put files
....
wu-ftpd is only reqally unsecure when anon-ftp is running .. most exploits
are via the anon a/c... if you don't trust local users it is probably also
exploitable, but so are many other pieces of local software if a user can
login..
