I'm pretty sure that Smoothwall does support diald which is what you need to
have auto-dialing and hangup after idle - nothing to do with the modem - if
your modem works with Linux (i.e. not an unsupported type of Winmodem) it'll
work with diald. An ISDN card auto-dialing and hanging up are completely
different things and this functionality is provided by the ISDN4Linux
package - nothing to do with diald although the latest version of I4L will
work with diald if for some reason you want to do that.
