Quick question I have a Compaq Armada 1700 Laptop (300Mhz PII + 6gb + 160mb)
that had windoze 2k on it and i got fed up with, well, windoze, and decided
to install mandrake 8.1 so i backed up files etc and wiped the partition
table and installed the installation was fine no errors etc.
when lilo came up and i selected linux as usual "loading linux . . . . . ."
came up and i was eagerly anticipating "uncompressing linux... ok booting
the kernel" but instead i got a blank screen so i rebooted and tryed again,
same story, so i tried failsafe this got me further then above but not very
far because it just started to spill out a load of what look like memory
addresses but who knows??
i tried mandrake 7.1 and the very dusty 7.0 but to no avail any ideas guys
