I do. I use (Blushing) ASEASYAS, a Lotus 123 clone type of thing, and have
stuck with it for the rapid keystrokes that it allows, which I know. Anyone
familiar with excel might be comfortable with kspread, another spreadsheet
program. I at least think I know what I'm doing with my small accounts dept,
and can dream up the spreadsheet formulae I want. If he can't, or if he wants
cash allocation on the debtors, for instance, he needs better. What you will
find is that many accounting systems are out there optimised for particular
businesses. My brother has one, for instance, optimised for the needs of
solicitors. Tell him not to buy anything unless they will set him up, offer
training & support, and start him off. AVOID TAS BOOKS. I'm looking for
something to handle the old .wk? format that lotus uses, but kspread doesn't
go near it. The euro is another issue: Mandrake 8.1 claims to have a pain
free euro, but I'm only on 8.0, and suffering.
