up2date is totally broken on a Redhat 7.0 box I maintain
- I think redhat x.0 releases have always been a bit unreliable
in the past - and for me 7.0 is no different. Some people havn't
noticed any problems with 7.0 - I guess it depends on whats installed
and how its being used.
However, anytime I've upgraded from cd i've run into problems too.
Most upgrade problems arise from where an application requires
a new format of configuration file - sorting that out can
sometimes be a bit time consuming.
Anyway - just be aware these things seldom go totally smoothly!
(especially if you've made a lot of unusual changes etc).
Make sure you backup your important configs (and data too just in
case).

up2date works pretty well - just change the version of your system in
up2date config and do up2date --update, then go for a long, long coffee
break.
