Missed that one, Was very busy on Friday and am only just getting round to reading those mails...
Did you try to boot the paritition, or just give up when SuSE complained?
I get this warning also, but usually ignore it. SuSE always asks to make a boot floppy.
FYI
When I have multiple distros installed I usually just boot from one boot partition. Firstly I install the main distro, create a directory in /boot and copy it's boot files to that directory. I also copy the lilo.conf into /boot/etc for safe keeping.
Then I install the second (and more) distro which overwrites the MBR, etc. But again I move everything to another subdir and then update my first copy of lilo.conf to boot the new kernel. Then I point /etc/lilo.conf to point to /boot/etc/lilo.conf an all distros. From there they live happily ever after!

SuSE usually has the USB stuff as modules so I tend to leave them alone since only the modules needed get loaded anyway. Out of curiousity - what did you leave enabled, and did you compile it into the kernel or as modules?

You've got to remember most reviews are trying to take it from a new linux user stand point, so they tend to concentrate on simple installations, etc. You (and myself) on the other hand know what you want and try to circumvent the idiot proofing in the installation. Doing this will give you warnings, but more often than not, work!
On the whole I've had minor problems with all the distros out there, but have less with SuSE than any others.
