According to SoloCDM:
> What do the following xinetd based services provide?
>
> chargen: off
> chargen-udp: off

Spits out a constant stream of ASCII

> daytime: off
> daytime-udp: off

Current date and time

> echo: off
> echo-udp: off

Returns whatever you feed it

> time: off
> time-udp: off

Current time

> Also, do the above services have anything to do with telnet or ftp?

Nope. Telnet and Ftp are entirely separate services. It's usually best to
have the above serices turned off.

Cheers,
Waider.
