I'm never too sure what our position is from day to day regarding job offers
but AFAIR the last time it was discussed we were broadly in favour,
particularly in the current economic climate. So here's the spiel :
A database engineer is required to work full-time for one year in Darmstadt
(just south of Frankfurt) Germany, with possible time extensions.
The following are the specified tasks/experience:
+ Definition, set-up and maintenance of Spacecraft
Operations databases;
+ Definition and implementation of Spacecraft Database
exchange interfaces;
+ Import of externally provided information into an operational
control centre database;
+ Spacecraft Operations Preparation;
+ Database logical model descriptions;
+ Database query languages (e.g. SQL)
+ Data Structure and Content Description Languages (e.g. ACID);
Don't worry about your lack of spacecraft ops experience (though if you do
have some, all the better :-) ) as long as you're competent in the other
areas.
This is, in the language of the recruitment consultants, a "HOT" opportunity
so if you're interested get a CV to me ASAP and I'll get it to the relevant
people.
