[ILUG] compiling ancient kernels

[ILUG] compiling ancient kernels

Couldn't you just use a 2.0 or a 2.2.... I'm using 2.4.19 on a 386dx w 16 mb
of ram... but in the ram range of 1-6mb you should still get away with an
early 2.2... or at least a 2.0.

Like I say is there any real reason you have to use a 1.x .. if it were me
I'd use say a 2.2 and possibly put the box to work as a low end
gateway/firewall for a small lan... possibly dhcp server and or mailserver..
depending on the available diskspace...

Though I might leave off on running your bank's mailserver from a 386.
