[ILUG] hardware not supported by linux

i just downloaded the linux code onto my laptop and it is not supporting my 
hardware. my printer will not print OR TURN ON anymore. i have tried to 
reinstall linux and my printer drivers (i don't have linux printer drivers 
though) and it still won't work.

have u ever downloaded the code and has this happened to you?

also, my laptop has a winmodem. will this work under wine? i have not used 
wine b4 but i know it is better than window$.
