[ILUG] PCI ADSL modem

[ILUG] PCI ADSL modem

Hi all,

Just back from holliers and time to get back to me ADSL configuration buzz.
I got the eircon solo option, the cheapest and it came with a USB alcatel
speedtouch modem.

So far I cannay get it detected with...
1. Smoothwall version 0.99-se [I believe that version 2 will support USB
jobbies & I'm considering buying the product]
2. Mandrake SNF [think there is only one version available & cannot remember
what it is]

I am planning to test Mandrake 8.2 server edition & normal but I was just
wondering has anyone had any success with the solo jobby?

I am finding that eircons ISDN thing is too expensive, we were away for two
and a half weeks, and yet this months bill was still over 80 yoyo's.

Best regards
CW

-------------------------
It should do. For an DSL modem to work with eircoms service, it must
support PPPoE encapsulation, LLC multiplexing and RFC 1483.
Regards,
Joe
