Hey guys,
I'm just curious about my adsl settings and was wondering
if anyone could clear it up for me.
I know that eircoms adsl is dynamic ip.
I've noticed that if i disconnect and reconnect i have the same ip
address.
I only get a different ip address if i reboot the machine before
reconnecting to the server.
Can anyone explain to me why it only changes to a new ip
after a reboot?
Im running debian 3.0. I thought that maybe the bridging
was giving me a new mac address for the nas0 interface
and the server gave me a new ip because of this new mac
address?
Can anyone shed some light on this for me ?
I'm extremely curious
Many thanks
Declan
