hrishy, have you ever heard of google (http://www.google.com/)?

Just sticking certain keywords from your questions above into google
produced the following results:

1. transparent proxy iptables

gave me(as the first result):

http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/TransparentProxy.html

2. virus scan squid

gave me (third result):

http://www.openantivirus.org/projects.php - has details on squid-vscan
amongs others.

3. Not really needing an answer, if you're using a good caching
web-proxy you should be fine. The de-facto standard on Linux is
squid. Use it. It is good. Note that the HOWTO in point 1 mentions
squid a lot so you should already be aware of it at this stage.

4. squid ad blocking

turns up loads of results. Again, there's one that loads of people use
and it's in the first page of results:

http://internet.junkbuster.com/

5. squid content filtering

again gives plenty of hits, one that stands out is:

http://dansguardian.org/

Please, do us the courtesy of performing at least this cursory step
before asking any questions on this list. If you don't find what
you're looking for, try some other keywords.

If you still can't find what you're looking for after at least a few
minutes of searching on google, then ask away, but mention that you've
tried googling and possibly list some of the solutions you found, but
explain why they don't fit your needs.

Martin.
