[ILUG] USB cablemodem

[ILUG] USB cablemodem

Ok, i installed Mandrake today, and frankly, it rocks. The only problem is
that i have an ambit cablemodem which supports USB and Ethernet. I have 1
ethernet card and 3 usb ports. The ethernet card is being used by my
network, and i have 2 free usb ports. The only problem is that i have no
drivers for linux for my cablemodem. I have read up that to use it with an
ethernet card, just set up the ehternet card and tell it to connect. BUT i
am using it. I havent a clue about how to get it to use the usb port.

i had to re-partition and install Winxp *sob* just to ask this. plz help.

ps. i could get a loan of an ehternet card from my friend, but i fear this
would saturate the system even more, and i would much prefer to use the usb
port.

Does anybody have anything which may help?
or anything to persuade me to get another ethernet card (or discourage it)
thnx
