I've never actually tried it, but I have heard that many cablemodems with
USB ports will actually look like a standard USB Ethernet adaptor to the
computer. Your Mandrake system should be able to deal with USB Ethernet, I
believe.

Getting an additional Ethernet card is probably the preferred solution,
IMHO. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "saturating" the system, but it
shouldn't cause you any problems to have another card in there.
