Of course, you could just take along a powerful laptop running Linux and
connect it back-to-back to the X-terminal, uhm, I mean the old machine. Run
OO off the fast laptop whilst making it appear on the correct display...
Okay, so maybe they are not ready for thin client. But surely it would be
worth a try?
