[ILUG] linux on presarios

I bought a compaq presario 701 a couple of months ago and was able to
install Redhat 7.2 on it. I had a problem initially where the kernel
kept crashing. It was due to some optimization for my processor (Duron).
A recompile of the kernel without this optimization seemed to do the
trick. Have had no other problems since.
