Hi,
I have SuSE 7.3 installed on a laptop, which I have been updating with
the latest SuSE updates.
At some point in time, I started have problems running some scripts and
executables.
For example, if I try to configure the latest release of wine -
20020605, I get:
# ./configure
bash: ./configure: bad interpreter: Permission denied
The first line of the configure script is
#! /bin/sh
The file attributes seem ok:
# ls -l configure
-rwxr-xr-x 1 1000 users 423782 Jun 5 18:18 configure
If I copy configure to, say, configure2, and run that I have the same
problem.
I have also had a similar problem with some executables
For example, there is an Environment called ACE (The Adapative
Communication Environment, http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/ACE.html)
One of the executables in that is tao_idl.
If I compile it on my laptop, and then try to run it, I get:
# ./tao_idl
bash: ./tao_idl: Permission denied
Once again the permissions seem ok:
# ls -l tao_idl
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 573998 Jun 15 16:50 tao_idl
If I try to list its library requirements:
# ldd tao_idl
/usr/bin/ldd: ./tao_idl: Permission denied
Any ideas?
Conor
