Kinda unlikely. Unless I'm sorely mistaken, /lib and /usr/lib are
hardcoded into ld.so. Also, running ldconfig is a better way to fix up
the symlinks, IIRC. Manually creating symlinks for libraries is
contraindicated by the Surgeon General.
