[ILUG] Squid's cache_mem variable

Nope as of two days ago I have played with squid... never had any need for
it before.. I always used nat, but needed a proxy because the doze boxes on
the network refused to use the supplied default gateway.. apart from two
boxes 'for some arbitrary reason'.

In any case I had found the cache_dir variable and set it to 650 mb thanks,
but 8mb of ram is less than I'm using right now, 4 is what I'm using due to
the low amount of ram on the system .. and a squid nhf said that 4mb of ram
could easily become 12mb of ram as squid can use up to three times the
supplied value of cache_mem, thus 8 could become 24 mb of ram and the
printout of /proc/meminfo tells me I have about 1mb of ram to play with
before eating into swap... but, as I have never played with squid before I
will increase the cache_ram variable to 8mb as advised.
