I'll keep detesting them because they are bloatware mostly compiled for >=p1
in any case besides being unoptimized, but if it makes you feel good to vent

 That's a very stupid way of looking at it.

 He has two applications, compiled off different versions of the
libraries. RPM is telling him use one library version, or the other.

 Debian certainly has the same problems, and the only reason that Gentoo
and BSD don't have this problem is that they usually compile up from
source, which is exactly what I was telling him to do.

 So keep detesting RPM, because it's cool to do so.

 I'll keep shaking my head at people that use source based distros, for
wasting bandwidth and fossil fuels because of all the extra work the CPUs
have to do for no good reason.
