i dont know how it works. i'm presuming that the different agents have 
different customs&excise people assigned to them.

i didnt know there was a lower limit.

eek! so if you got an expensive gift from the states:

- the duty men would take their 23%

- the inland revenue'd take their 8%

you could end up paying over EUR300 to receive a EUR1k /gift/ from the 
states!
