[ILUG] tip of the day

[ILUG] tip of the day

Padraig Brady padraig at antefacto.com
Thu Jun 27 14:35:57 IST 2002

This is from my talk that never happened, on:
"inconsistencies in the UNIX interface".
Basically it shows that using general tools makes
it trival to expand their functionality. In this
case highlighting is added to grep, which is
nice for text searches and also is useful for
debugging regular expressions.

you can get it here:
http://www.iol.ie/~padraiga/iitui/sedgrep

and try it out like:
sedgrep "[0-9]" /etc/fstab

Padraig.
