BTW, that "can't get anon CVS working" thing is sorted. Turned out that I
was editing the CVSROOT/passwd file on my desktop, and committing it to
enable a mapping between a CVS user, and a real one.
Alas, CVS is demented. I had to scp the file up to CVSROOT/passwd on the
CVS server too, as all CVSROOT contained was the passwd,v file. There is a
"CVSROOT/checkoutlist" file, that you add filenames to, and when you
commit them, they are checked out into the directory on the CVS server.
Thanks to Dave Neary for pretty much fixing it for me.
