IIRC, you've got a Canon A20. Are you using gPhoto or
going through the usb-storage module?
From playing around with Compact Flash on RH7.2, things
get a bit confused if you pop the card out before stopping
the IDE device. Does the kernel gracefully handle the
USB-SCSI devices going away unexpectedly?
