their network
No (probably) - if they do not tell you beforehand
Usually a clause would be included in Contract of Employment or a Policy
document on Computer Usage. Leastways, thats what we do to comply with UK law
which I think follows a general principle probably applicable in most legal
systems. Its the "telling you beforehand" is the contentious issue not their
right to monitor your use of their property.
Of course I'm not a lawyer....
