hello everybody,
i am trying to create a cgi script that, simply, prints out a list
of users currently online on a system. So far what ive come up with is a
perl script that grabs a file with a html header in it prints out the output
of the "users" command and then grabs a file with a html footer in it. This
works fine however if a user is using more then 1 shell you get say " root
root simon simon simon" which is a bit nasty. I saw on the DCU redbrick page
(http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/about/stats/) a perfect solution it prints a
login name only once and then prints the number of shells that user is
using, Can anybody enlighten me as to how they may have done this. Also, and
this is beyond me, there is the number of users printed at the top of the
page, How might they have done this. sorry if this is really trivial but i
am a newbie.
Simon
