Curiously enough, no. In fairness, I didn't restart it but stopped it, which
I would have thought would do that - perhaps the fact that it had live
children ? I just tried on a SuSE 7.3 box with a couple of sshd clients but
that behaved as you'd expect i.e. the oirignal process died and init
inherited the children.

I was going to rebuild the rpm for SuSE but I decided that as this was
anyway only temporary I'd simply build it from source in /usr/local.
