Oh yes.  

As as list-admin myself, I'm sympathetic to those who strip MIME from
list posts.  There's so much abuse of the technique.  And it doesn't
help that Mailman's default pipermail archiver doesn't decode them.

See http://www.balug.org/pipermail/balug-talk/2002-March.txt.gz for an
example of MIME rubbish marring a mailing list archive.  Some people's
habit of top-posting (posting new text above a complete, untrimmed
quotation of the entire prior message thread) doesn't help much, either.
