OK,
I've got a bunch of bad blocks showing up lately, and I want to fix
them (temporarily, I reckon, as the disc is probably dying).
Can I do "e2fsck -c /dev/hda" on a running machine?
Given the following files affected by the problem
+-------------------------------------------------------------------
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K03rhnsd: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/S00single: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K80random: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K75netfs: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K90network: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K10xfs: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K20isdn: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K35smb: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K45arpwatch: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K25sshd: Input/output error
|find: /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K50xinetd: Input/output error
|find: /initrd: Input/output error
+-------------------------------------------------------------------
will it die before I restore them from backup?
Particularly, what's /initrd? It doesn't seem to be on my other
system.
