[ILUG] XcdRoast

[ILUG] XcdRoast

Thanks to everybody that replied on the nvidia driver issue. I took the
plunge and it worked first time.

However, immediately after the succesful installation, Xcdroast now refuses
to behave. it now insists that it cannot scan the scsi bus and that I may not
have permission to acces the drive or that the kernel is not properly
configured. This is nonsense as it worked before and still continues to work
as 'root'.

I have tried manualling re-editing the /home/.config file but this just won't
work. Basically the programme insists that the scsi bus cannot be found. I
tries two other cdburner utils and found exactly the same problem. I have
altered the permissions on every file I can think of such as, /dev/cdrom,
/dev/scd0/, usr/bin/xcdroast, et al to no effect at all.

I may have installed some cd ripper software (such as cdrdao) after
installing the nvidia drivers - would this have made any difference?

Anybody any ideas?
