Hi ,
I'm trying to get a slave NIS server to transfer its map from the master but
when I
run xpinit -s servername I keep getting
Trying ypxfrd ...call to rpc.ypxfrd failed: RPC: Timed out
(failed, fallback to enumeration)
after less than a second. The master server is running ypxfrd and it appears to
be okay
so I think this is a slave issue.
Both machines are RH 7.2 and running
ypserv-1.3.12-2
ypbind-1.8-1
yp-tools-2.5-1.
I have gone through the NIS howtos but have found nothing relevant and google
only returns
the same question unanswered on other lists so any help or pointers would be
greatly appreciated.
