[ILUG] Mandrake8.2 with Xircom cardbus modem

[ILUG] Mandrake8.2 with Xircom cardbus modem

Hi Guys,
Just installed Mandrake8.2 on my laptop, so far so
good. I have a Xircom cardbus combined nic/modem stuck
in the side of it, which has worked fine until now.
Unfortunately, the modem side of things doesn't
work anymore, the nic is still flying along. I
downloaded the latest source for lt_modem ( 6.00c2 )
and also tried the rpm ( 6.00b15 ).
The modem is being detected, but it locks up the
whole system, the only answer being the power switch.
Does anybody have ideas what to try next, or has
somebody overcome in the week or so since 8.2 was
released.
Buying a different modem is not an option

   Eamonn
