It is illegal to sell/donate/transfer ownership of a PC without passing on
any OEM software which was originally supplied with it.
Students of course can use the the CD-ROMS to prevent coffee/coke stains on
desks when they are trying to figure out how to get rid of the software
someone has donated them.
It is not illegal to remove such software and to use in the manner suggested.
