I installed Debian on very similar boxes to these (I assume it's a
PowerEdge 2550, given the PERC3/Di) with no trouble - however I needed
to install additional drivers for the PERC (it's on Dell's site, and
it's in the stock Linux kernel from 2.4.8 or thereabouts).

*However*, Dell support Red Hat Linux on the PowerEdge range, so
there's considerable commercial comfort with going with RedHat,
especially if you're not familiar with Debian.
