The analogy was on topic, it is unoriginal and overly used by Linux
advocates, I felt that I should point that out.  Now it's certainly
spiralled way off topic so I won't be discussing it any further

X programming wasn't within the realm of operating systems, I could say
that Blade 2 has special FX -> Linux is used in some rendering farms to
generate special FX -> Linux is an operating system or I could say that
students have seen Blade 2

Was that the complaint?  It looked like the complaint was about people's
disinterest in Linux

Yeah but then some Linux users are dismissive of Linux too
