Their pricing is only directly comparable with one of Eircom's offerings
where Eircom is actually somewhat cheaper - €165 installation, ~ €200 for an
Ethernet ADSL modem (though perhaps they charge more for their "whole office"
solution) €169 / month for 1M/256K with NO D/L cap.

For this ESAT will charge €125.64 (that's £98.95 in case you were puzzled,
though they feel obliged to hang on to a price decided by some marketing
droid in put days is beyond me) installation and €205 / month. ESAT prices
include supplied equipment.

The Eircom prices are ex. VAT. I presume the ESAT prices are too because
they're targeting businesses but they don't say.


However, their pricing is a lot better than Eircom's at the low end (some
low - low end DSL service in Germany costs €20/month). Same installation
charges apply for both companies as above, but ESAT's lowest service is
512k/256k for €90/month while Eircom's istream solo is 512k/128k and costs
€89/month. So Eircom will cost you ~€200 more for installation (a bit less
if you buy a USB ADSL modem), €1 less per month BUT it has a 3G monthly cap
which means you can use the system at its full download speed for less than
30 minutes per day. To my mind this makes ESAT's prices at the low end a lot
better. I hope that competition between the two will drive prices down but
I'm not holding my breath.
