Hi Folks,

I'm leaving Jinny next month and I said I'd help the guys here out with
finding a replacement.  This is an excellant opportunity for someone with
Linux/Unix and Windows 2000.  Heres the spec:-


In House IT Support Ref JS 78 LIVE POSITION


Jinny Software In House IT Support Requirements

Duties include providing support for Windows 2000 server, desktop and laptop
PC's as well as Linux/Unix servers. The successful candidate will be
responsible for setting up and administering LAN and WAN connections as well
as ensuring the security of these with Firewall and VPN administration.
Liasing and negotiating with hardware, software and service suppliers to
ensure adequate quality of service as well as putting proposals out to
tender to gain best value for the company. This position requires a degree
of flexibility and a friendly approach. This position also affords the
candidate a high level of autonomy and is suited to a highly motivated
individual with the ability to read up on, and learn new technologies.


Desirable experience required

.At least 2 years proven experience in a similar role in a
Telecommunications, Hosting or Software Development environment.
·Experience of LAN/WAN network set-up and administration.
·2 years strong experience with Red Hat Linux and Sun Solaris
·Troubleshooting and fault finding on UNIX/Linux systems and networks.
·Shell scripting experience
·Telecoms and Cisco router configuration.
·Experience of full technical set-up for all new hires.
·Cisco PIX/ Linux IPSec Firewall set-up and the monitoring of same.
·Windows NT Server or Windows 2000 Server administration.
·Set-up and Administration of Sendmail/Apache on Cobalt RAQ3 servers running
Linux
·Experience of Veritas Backup Software
·Experience of Norton Enterprise Virus Software
·Hardware experience of Server architectures running on Intel and Sparc
based systems especially SUN E450 enterprise servers.
·Experience of setting up 802.11b Wireless Networks as well as experience
with Bluetooth and wireless PDAs and Mobile devices
·Printer set-up and support
·Nortel Meridian Experience
·Knowledge of the main IT data bases in also important


Qualifications required

Graduate with 1st or 2:1 Honours Degree in Computer
Sciences/Electrical/Telecom Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications
·A+ Certification
·MSCE/MCP Certification
·Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
·Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
