I've managed to get my hands on an old SparcStation 5 and I want to try
and put Linux on it. I think the keyboard is busted because the screen
remains black when I turn them on so I'm trying to get some reaction via a
serial terminal so I can see boot messages.
The cable I have is a DB9 Female to DB25 Male. I plug them in, no
keyboard or anything, run minicom with what I think are the proper
settings but still nothing. It remains offline. Does anyone have
experience with booting this things with a serial cable and know what I
have to do to just get started? Eventually, I'm going to have to boot the
thing with tftp and do a net install but I reckon I'll need to get a
serial terminal first.
Thanks
