 Ah, memories of a credit card transaction server that had been setup to
communicate on /dev/term/a via modem to barclays.

 Yes, the serial console was on the same port. So, all hell broke loose
every time something was printed to serial console...including barclays
refusing connections for 20 minutes because it thought it was being
spammed or something.

 Try and explain to a non-technical manager that "those problems you've
been having over the last few months were because someone removed the
keyboard, and rebooted...
