nah. packages were in a self-contained directory. if you opened up 
that dir in the *Step file viewer (shelf, whatever its called) you 
just saw an icon / name of the programme. if you looked at that dir 
from the shell there were a whole bunch of files there.

ie, you might have an Omniview dir, and from within the UI all you 
would ever see is the Icon for Omniview (or its name, whatever). but 
from the shell you'd see it was a directory with icons, libs, 
executables, etc..

sure, doesnt glen still have the OpenStep cd that he borrowed off me a 
year or two ago that Mr. White sent to me a year or two before that? 
install it and have a look. :)
