I have a situation where I have a DNS server which is in a DMZ. This server
also serves a domain company.loc where we've defined names for the local
machines on the internal LAN. All the internal machines have this server in
their resolv.conf so they get the company.loc addresses resolved.
However, the DNS server box has a couple of upstream servers (out of my control)
in its resolv.conf so it doesn't know about company.loc . Is there a way of
resolving this apart from simply dumping the whole company.loc domain into
the DNS servers /etc/hosts (which wouldn't actually be that difficult, but
I'd prefer a more elegant solution).
